Well we had an interesting morning. It appeared we were getting a new registered user every five minutes to our blog. This is a little more than normal and the traffic stats appeared to be coming from a bot. For WordPress users if you are getting spam registrations we recommend you check out the SABRE plugin. It is a great tool we used to eliminate the unwarranted and unwanted registrations.
Sabre is an acronym for Simple Anti Bot Registration Engine. It’s a set of counter measures against spam registration on your blog.
Your visitors are granted permission to register freely on your blog and now you are plagued by fake users automatically created by spammers? Sabre is one solution which will stop these robotized visitors!

Inclusion of a captcha in the registration form
Selection of the captcha’s complexity
Selection of the background colour for the captcha image
Inclusion of a math test in the registration form
Selection of the math test’s complexity
